MORBID ANGEL, KATAKLYSM, BLACKGUARD, CRYPTOPSY Performances To Be Streamed Online
June 20, 2012The first annual charity metal event Spread The Metal Festival will descend on Halifax, Canada, on July 5 and July 6. The festival will feature headliners MORBID ANGEL, KATAKLYSM, BLACKGUARD, and CRYPTOPSY, supported by 12 others over the two days. All net proceeds will benefit the Heart And Stroke Foundation, a national Canadian charity that assists researchers to battle heart disease and stroke, as well as help people living with these conditions to lead a healthier life. Heart disease and stroke are two of the top three leading causes of death in Canada, and these killers affect millions of sufferers.
In an exciting new development, the festival will be streamed live worldwide, thanks to Halifax-based production company LiveOnlineCanada.ca. The webcast will be available to metalheads around the world, and will be available for registration starting in late June. The cost will be $20 for both days and $15 each day.
Spread the Metal Records plans to host the Spread The Metal Festival every year and continue to donate 100 percent of the net proceeds. This year, the fundraising goal for the Heart And Stroke Foundation has been set at a very ambitious $100,000.
